Seeking Piano/Voice Instructor
Lydian Music Studios, a premier music school on Portland’s central eastside, is seeking a talented piano instructor to join our growing faculty. We teach students of all levels, from beginners to advanced performers, and take pride in offering a high-quality, personalized learning experience in a beautiful, professional space.
What We’re Looking For:

Proficiency and performance experience in classical piano and/or jazz/lead-sheet styles.

Voice and piano teaching experience is ideal, though voice-only or piano-only instructors are welcome.

Strong background in performance and music education (BM, MM, or DMA preferred).

Skilled at teaching a range of ages, from teens to adults.

Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:

Deliver private lessons tailored to each student’s goals, fostering musical growth and confidence.

Host performance workshops (paid) and help foster community
-
Support students with guidance on performance, technique, and repertoire.

Maintain professional, reliable communication with students and studio leadership.
Compensation & Structure:
-
Starting pay: $42.50/hr, $35/45min, $25/30min
-
Independent contractor position with commission-based pay.
-
Flexible scheduling 1–4 days per week.

Opportunity to bring your own students or grow a new student base through the studio.
