voice/piano coach 

 

 

Lydian Music Studios is looking for a voice instructor/coach who enjoys teaching young students as well as advanced/professional students. Ability to teach piano or other instruments is preferred but not required for the right candidate. We opened our doors in 2021 and have been growing our student base steadily ever since. Our primary mission is to teach high quality music lessons from beginners to professionals on the central eastside of Portland. As a business we also offer rehearsal space and a small performance venue. We pride ourselves on having well qualified instructors, a safe learning environment and a beautiful space to make music in. 

 

Position Responsibilities 

 

• Provide high quality music education through private lessons utilizing your education, teaching and performance background.

• Provide support for each student’s music development specifically catered to their individual goals

• Maintain reliable communication with students and owners 

• Create a safe and positive learning environment at all times

• Participate and support students in studio events/recitals, approximately 3-4 per year, pending instructor availability.  

• Already have your own students? That’s great, you can teach your current private students out of our studios at an affordable rate, and/or allow Lydian Music Studios to supply you with new students.

 

Position Requirements/preferences 

• BM, MM or DMA in Music Performance or education 

• Experience teaching private lessons

• Strong ability teach kids ages 10 and up as well adults

• Experience with a wide range of music styles and genres e.g. Jazz, classical, musical theater, pop, etc. 

• Strong communication skills with owners, students and parents

• Available 2-3 days a week

• Highly organized

 

Compensation:

• Starting pay: $37.50 /hr

• Teachers will be hired as independent contractors and will be paid on a commission basis.
